EFEK PENGOLAHAN PAKAN CUBE PADA HIJAUAN DAN BIJIAN TERHADAP PRODUKTIVITAS TERNAK: KAJIAN LITERATUR

Pengolahan pakan ternak dengan bentuk cube merupakan salah satu teknologi pengolahan pakan yang bertujuan untuk meningkatkan stabilitas fisik, daya simpan, dan keseragaman nutrisi bahan pakan, khususnya hijauan dan biji-bijian (grain). Metode ini dilakukan dengan cara pencacahan, pengeringan, pencampuran bahan, dan pemadatan menggunakan tekanan mekanis, sehingga menghasilkan pakan berbentuk kubus (cube) berukuran seragam dan mudah dikonsumsi ternak. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis bentuk cube terhadap karakteristik fisik, nilai nutrien, dan efek cubing dalam sistem produksi ternak. Kajian ini menggunakan pendekatan literatur dengan menganalisis secara komparatif hasil penelitian yang dipublikasikan dalam satu dekade terakhir (2015-2025). Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa metode cube dapat menjadi salah satu alternatif teknologi pengolahan pakan yang potensial diterapkan dalam sistem peternakan modern, terutama dalam menghadapi keterbatasan hijauan segar dan memaksimalkan pemanfaatan limbah pertanian.
